Steven C. Benke is a Board Certified Family Law Attorney and has been practicing in San Antonio, Texas for over 17 years. During that time, he has been in private practice and has dedicated his services to over 5,000 family law cases in Bexar County and South Texas, including bench trials, jury trials, mediations, and appeals. Mr. Benke is a specialist in Family Law and holds the distinguished credential of Board Certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. The Board Certification process is rigorous and thorough with stringent, ongoing requirements after initial certification. This designation sets him apart as being an attorney with the highest public commitment to excellence in the specialty area of Family Law. He is also one of the most experienced family law attorneys in the San Antonio area. Mr. Benke strives to bring superior legal services to his clients and is particularly sensitive to their needs and legal rights. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association, as well as the Family Law section of both of these organizations. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Benke served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Kelly AFB. He received his BBA in Business Management from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1996 and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University, and became a licensed attorney in 1998. Steven and his wife, Jennifer, live in San Antonio with their son.
Alicia M. Galvany joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in 2011 and has focused her practice on understanding her client’s needs and desired outcomes in their family law and probate matters. She believes that successful representation begins with communication, from the initial consult through case resolution. Ms. Galvany considers every client’s circumstances to be unique, and strives to develop effective strategies to best represent her client’s interests. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Galvany enjoyed a career in Federal Civil Service as a civil-military analyst for the United States Army, for which she received the Superior Civilian Service Award. She also served as a United States Army Reserve officer and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ms. Galvany brings her passion for service to her legal practice and is dedicated to expanding her knowledge through participation in continuing legal education and professional organizations. Ms. Galvany received her B.S. in Spanish from Southern Connecticut State University in 1999 and her J.D. from Villanova University in Pennsylvania in 2002. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Prior to relocating to Texas, she worked at South Jersey Legal Services, Inc., where she represented victims of domestic violence. Ms. Galvany received her Texas law license in 2008. Her professional memberships include the Texas Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA), as well as the Family Law Section of both organizations. Ms. Galvany is a member of the Board of Directors for the SABA Family Law Section. Alicia and her husband Robert live in San Antonio with their various cats and dogs, all of which are rescues.
Vanessa Benavides joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in 2015. Ms. Benavides is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and English. She received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Texas Tech University School of Law in December 2009 and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2010. Ms. Benavides began her career as a prosecutor for the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Benavides worked at a private firm as an associate attorney focused on immigration matters, criminal defense, and family law. Ms. Benavides brings a strong litigation background to the firm. She has tried more than twenty-five cases to juries and has practiced in state and federal court. Vanessa lives in San Antonio with her husband, Adam, their young daughter, and their dog, Nellie.
Kathleen M. Fox-Sanvictores joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in May 2015 and has dedicated herself to serving her clients with compassion and professionalism. She focuses on the unique circumstances of each case in order to provide every client quality service and attention. She attended Baylor University where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Spanish. Prior to attending law school, she gained experience in the legal field while working for a global patent and trademark firm, Finnegan LLP, in Washington, D.C. in the Conflicts and New Business department. She began attending St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2010 as a member of their evening program. While attending school, she worked as a Human Resources Analyst for Clear Channel Corporate, a legal assistant in the Law Office of Yvonne J. Trevino and the Shaw Corporation, an intern at Texas Rio Grande Legal Aide, and a student attorney at the Center for Legal and Social Justice. She also became a certified CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) with the San Antonio branch of CASA and is committed to promoting the best interests of children affected by abuse and neglect in Bexar County. She graduated from St. Mary’s in 2014 and was admitted to the Texas State Bar that same year. After graduation, Ms. Sanvictores worked in insurance defense with Paul Garcia and Associates in San Antonio, Texas until March 2015. She opened her own practice, The Sanvictores Law Firm, for a time focusing on criminal and juvenile defense before becoming a member of The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke. Her professional memberships include the Texas Bar Association, San Antonio Bar Association, and the Bexar County Women’s Bar Association. She is the proud wife of Adrian and mother of Ayla, who inspire her to share her passion for helping families find resolution and healing through the legal process.
Diana C. Davalos joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in 2016. Diana hails from Florida but considers herself to be a true Texan! She moved to Texas after graduating from Florida State University with a B.A. in Classics in 2006. Diana then attended law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law right here in San Antonio. During law school, Ms. Davalos worked in the Telephone Access to Justice for Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid where she gained valuable experience with domestic violence issues and protective orders. While attending law school, Ms. Davalos obtained certification in Mediation and Family Law Mediation. Having performed over 65 mediations herself, Ms. Davalos firmly believes that alternative dispute resolution can pave the way for healing and resolution in family law matters. Prior to joining the firm, Diana worked as the Staff Attorney for the Bexar County Domestic Relations Office where she prosecuted enforcement cases against parents who denied possession and access to the children. Ms. Davalos is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association as well as a member of the Family Law Section of both organizations. Diana lives in San Antonio with her husband and son.
Elise M. Stremel joined the Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in January, 2017. Ms. Stremel attended Texas A & M University where she graduated with Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience, where she served as a Clinical Psychology Research Assistant. As a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority she was Co-Director of Revision to Chapter By-Laws, selected as the New Member Class Leader and Philanthropy Director.
Ms. Stremel graduated with a Juris Doctorate Degree from Western State University in Fullerton, California. While in law school, Ms. Stremel interned with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as a certified law clerk, in both the adult and juvenile division. She was also in the Dean’s Fellow Honors Program, a recipient of the Trustee Scholarship Award in her second and third year, a Class Representative in the Criminal Law Association in her second and third year, a class representative of the Student Bar Association, was a member of the Mock Trial Team, and received an advanced certification as an income tax preparer. Ms. Stremel further received a certification in Criminal Law and Advocacy, with distinction, and was the recipient of the Exemplary Public Service Certificate Award.
Ms. Stremel currently lives in San Antonio, Texas with her fiancé, Michael Jaskowski.
