Steven C. Benke is a Board Certified Family Law Attorney and has been practicing in San Antonio, Texas for over 17 years. During that time, he has been in private practice and has dedicated his services to over 5,000 family law cases in Bexar County and South Texas, including bench trials, jury trials, mediations, and appeals. Mr. Benke is a specialist in Family Law and holds the distinguished credential of Board Certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. The Board Certification process is rigorous and thorough with stringent, ongoing requirements after initial certification. This designation sets him apart as being an attorney with the highest public commitment to excellence in the specialty area of Family Law. He is also one of the most experienced family law attorneys in the San Antonio area. Mr. Benke strives to bring superior legal services to his clients and is particularly sensitive to their needs and legal rights. He is a member of the Texas Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association, as well as the Family Law section of both of these organizations. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Benke served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Kelly AFB. He received his BBA in Business Management from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 1996 and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University, and became a licensed attorney in 1998. Steven and his wife, Jennifer, live in San Antonio with their son.
Alicia M. Galvany joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in 2011 and has focused her practice on understanding her client’s needs and desired outcomes in their family law and probate matters. She believes that successful representation begins with communication, from the initial consult through case resolution. Ms. Galvany considers every client’s circumstances to be unique, and strives to develop effective strategies to best represent her client’s interests. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Galvany enjoyed a career in Federal Civil Service as a civil-military analyst for the United States Army, for which she received the Superior Civilian Service Award. She also served as a United States Army Reserve officer and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Ms. Galvany brings her passion for service to her legal practice and is dedicated to expanding her knowledge through participation in continuing legal education and professional organizations. Ms. Galvany received her B.S. in Spanish from Southern Connecticut State University in 1999 and her J.D. from Villanova University in Pennsylvania in 2002. She is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Prior to relocating to Texas, she worked at South Jersey Legal Services, Inc., where she represented victims of domestic violence. Ms. Galvany received her Texas law license in 2008. Her professional memberships include the Texas Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association (SABA), as well as the Family Law Section of both organizations. Ms. Galvany is a member of the Board of Directors for the SABA Family Law Section. Alicia and her husband Robert live in San Antonio with their various cats and dogs, all of which are rescues.

Diana C. Davalos joined The Law Office Of Steven C. Benke in 2016. Diana hails from Florida but considers herself to be a true Texan! She moved to Texas after graduating from Florida State University with a B.A. in Classics in 2006. Diana then attended law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law right here in San Antonio. During law school, Ms. Davalos worked in the Telephone Access to Justice for Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid where she gained valuable experience with domestic violence issues and protective orders. While attending law school, Ms. Davalos obtained certification in Mediation and Family Law Mediation. Having performed over 65 mediations herself, Ms. Davalos firmly believes that alternative dispute resolution can pave the way for healing and resolution in family law matters. Prior to joining the firm, Diana worked as the Staff Attorney for the Bexar County Domestic Relations Office where she prosecuted enforcement cases against parents who denied possession and access to the children. Ms. Davalos is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association as well as a member of the Family Law Section of both organizations. Diana lives in San Antonio with her husband and son.
Blake Langford Pierce was born in Miami, Florida. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in 2009, he attended Boston College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2013. Mr. Pierce then attended law school at St. Mary’s University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Pierce excelled at research and writing. Mr. Pierce wrote for The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Race & Social Justice. He helped write several legal articles with David G. Grenardo and worked as a Dean’s Associate.
Mr. Pierce prides himself in treating his clients with dignity, honesty, and respect. He enjoys working with other professionals and has learned how to excel, support, and lead a positive and productive team environment. He is a quick learner and enjoys challenges that do not have an easy solution and require critical thinking.
In his free time, he enjoys running and hanging out with his Labrador Retriever, Brooklyn.
Samuel Robert Morales was born and raised right here in San Antonio, Texas. Samuel graduated Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Philosophy from St. Mary’s University, he then went on to acquire his Doctor of Juris Prudence from the St. Mary’s University School of Law. Before beginning his academic career Samuel gained many years of business experience in both the telecommunications industry and in the mortgage field.
Samuel takes great pride in communicating authentically and effectively by setting proper expectations. He believes that setting proper expectations is a necessity when dealing with any client because it makes for both a “Real” and “Professional” business relationship that will hopefully be productive for many years to come.
Other than law and the gratification that comes with making a difference in his clients’ lives, Samuel’s passions are philosophy and family.
Juan Pablo Laurents was born in Brownsville, Texas. He grew up in Mexico and returned to Brownsville where he graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy. Mr. Laurents graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree in Government from the University of Texas at Brownsville. Mr. Laurents is a graduate of St. Mary’s University School of Law. While in Law School he was a member of the Board of Advocates, a Research Assistant for Professor Vincent Johnson and a Dean’s Associate. Mr. Laurents was also a member of the National Mock Trial Team and a member of the Women’s Law Association. While in Law School, Mr. Laurents interned with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Laurents is passionate about soccer and enjoys playing soccer on the weekends.
He resides in San Antonio with his English Bulldog, Alfie.
Laura Castro was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and moved to San Antonio in 1993 to attend St. Mary’s University, where she later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 in both Political Science and Criminal Justice.
After college, Ms. Castro enjoyed a career in Austin at the State Capitol, working in various capacities in state government, including Legislative Director, Lobbyist and Government Relations Specialist. In 2008, Ms. Castro returned to San Antonio to make it her home. She later enrolled in St. Mary’s University School of Law and participated in the Pro Bono Program opportunities assisting disadvantaged individuals with legal issues, such as the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), Veteran’s Clinic and the ID Recovery Project at Haven for Hope. Ms. Castro graduated St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2015.
Ms. Castro joined The Law Office of Steven C. Benke in April of 2019. During her time with the firm she has focused exclusively on family law matters. Her experience includes the following: divorce, protective orders, temporary restraining orders, enforcement actions, modification of prior orders, termination of parental rights, adoption, child custody disputes, paternity, Attorney General and child support issues.
Ms. Castro is a certified Mediator in general and family law issues and volunteers her time as a mediator with the Bexar County Dispute Resolution Center. She is a current member of the Texas Bar College, the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section, the San Antonio Bar Association Family Law Section, and Texas Women’s Bar. She is also a member Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority.
